PRAYER REQUESTS FOR 10.23.09

Hello from Honduras

Wow this week is almost over, we can’t believe how fast a week can go by. We have accomplished a lot of great things this week, it’s going to be hard to leave knowing there is so much to do and so little time.

We completed the 14 trusses needed for Sandy and JoAnn’s house. The weather was partly cloudy and warmer today… but awesome because we could see the beautiful mountains that surround the campus! It’s so nice and calming to sit in the tower, that is above the housing, and just look out at the beauty God’s created! We watched the sunset from there tonite. He is truly an awesome God. Praise and glory to him for who He is!!

Today we had planned to have only 2 ladies returning to the sewing room, both to finish Bible covers that were started yesterday. But once the door was opened, we again had more than 10 ladies there. Today the returning ladies learned to make buttonholes and fabric covered hair scrunchies. And the gals that finished the Bible covers were thrilled with the result. At the end of the time, they thanked us warmly for coming, and for sharing with them this week. Also there were different children at the daycare today that needed shoes, so we again gave away several pairs of shoes and flip flops to kids and moms.

If you were wondering what a traditional Honduran birthday celebration was, it consists of a raw egg, cup of flour and cup of water all dumped on your head!
